See all equipment you can often rent like down sleeping bags, insulation pads and down jackets.

A part from that you will also need good quality, thermal under and upper layers of cloths, gloves, warm hat, good sunglasses, sunscreen also for lips, a day pack, rain protection and camel back.

Most importantly is high quality hiking boots and they need to fit you well!

  • Duffel bag – Needs to be large for climbing gear and clothing. And will be carried by porters. Extra bag to be left at the hotel.

  • Day backpack – should be between 20 – 35 litres. Should be large enough to carry your own water, camera, raincoat, lunch pack, snacks & warm clothing

  • Breathable lightweight waterproofs (jacket and trousers).
  • Waterproof walking boots, sturdy and worn-in. A Gore-Tex membrane or similar is advised. While Alpine or C3 boots are not required for Kilimanjaro it is important that your boots have good ankle and arch support and good deep read patterns.
