Overview:

Your private day tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00 AM. The drive to Materuni Village takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours (about 60 km), passing through scenic landscapes with views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Materuni is a beautiful, traditional village known for its lush surroundings, stunning waterfalls, and natural hot springs.

Upon arrival, you will embark on a guided trek to the Materuni Waterfalls, followed by a relaxing visit to the Kikuletwa Hot Springs, known for its crystal-clear waters and serene setting.

Materuni Waterfalls & Hot Springs Highlights:

  • Materuni Waterfalls:
    Marvel at the breathtaking Materuni Waterfalls, one of the most spectacular natural sites in the region. The hike to the falls is approximately 30-45 minutes, passing through coffee plantations, lush greenery, and tropical landscapes. At the waterfall, take time to relax and enjoy the cool mist or swim in the natural pool below the falls.

  • Kikuletwa Hot Springs:
    After visiting the waterfalls, head towards Kikuletwa Hot Springs, a hidden gem located in the heart of nature. The crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush vegetation provide a tranquil setting to unwind and soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. Enjoy a swim or relax by the spring while surrounded by serene landscapes.

  • Coffee Plantation Tour:
    During your time at Materuni Village, you will also have the opportunity to experience a traditional coffee plantation tour, learning how the locals grow, harvest, and process coffee beans. You will even get to taste freshly brewed coffee made from the beans grown on the plantation.

  • Scenic Views of Mount Kilimanjaro:
    On clear days, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially from the waterfalls and the hot springs.
